Sheri Odom - 2004 Maryland Bid Calling Champion

Sheri Odom: Auctioneers Association of Maryland’s 2004 Bid Calling Champion

Sheri Odom of Ferndale, Maryland, was named the 2004 Bid Calling Champion on September 14, 2003.  The bid calling event was hosted by the Auctioneers Association of Maryland and was held at Glen Freeman’s Bel Air Auction Gallery in conjunction with the Make-A-Wish fundraising auction.  Rachel Troppman of Woodbine was the first runner-up and Jay Ruby of Frederick was the second runner-up.  Ms. Odom was selected out of nine other contestants from across the state who participated in the event.

In 1996, Sheri started working full time as an antique dealer.  After attending many auctions and learning the ins and outs of buying, she decided to pursue a career as an auctioneer.  In August of 1997, Sheri enrolled in Mendenhall School of Auctioneering where she became Vice President of her class.  Upon her return from auction school, she dove head first into her new career holding auctions with her life long friend Roxane Casto; working for other auction companies; and finally settling down to her current company, Four Seasons Antiques, Auctions and Appraisals and Contract Auctioneering.  In February of 1999, Sheri attended the Certified Appraisers Guild of America to become certified as a Personal Property Appraiser and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Auctioneers Association of Maryland.
