Annual AAM Fundraising Event - October 22, 2006
It has been a very productive year for the AAM with more member involvement, an increase in membership, outstanding results from the fundraising auction, and more. This year’s event was held at the Cochran Auctioneers Complex in Boonsboro, MD in conjunction with the bid calling contest on October 22, 2006. All efforts that day raised approx. $8,500.00 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and for the AAM Winter Conference Fund. Besides raising money for a good cause, everyone looks forward to these events because of the opportunity to spend the day with fellow members doing what we love – auctions.
A very special thank you to Jim & Leslie Cochran of Cochran Auctioneers and their entire crew for hosting the annual AAM benefit. They spent endless hours preparing for this event. We also want to thank our sponsors: AuctionZip, Frederick News Post, and NBC 25. There were more sponsors that will be recognized in our next newsletter. We also can’t forget all of the AAM members who worked the event, brought items to sell, and pitched in wherever help was needed. Leslie Cochran wanted to thank Sheri Odom for pitching in with the food service when Sheri noticed a long line and only one person working. Sheri jumped right behind the counter to help. That’s what it’s all about: working together in every aspect to get the job done.
These pictures do not capture every member that was involved on this day nor does it account for how much support we received. As auction professionals, we know what it takes to get a job done from the planning stages to implementation to follow through, so I’m sure you can appreciate the efforts lightly touched upon in this article. Thanks again to everyone and we look forward to next year’s event. |
