Congratulations to J.D. Cox of Upper Marlboro, MD who earned the title of 2007 Maryland State Bid Calling Champion on October 22, 2006. This year’s competition was held at the Cochran Auctioneers Complex in Boonsboro, MD in conjunction with the annual AAM fundraising event. The competition included nine auctioneers throughout the state of MD. Denise Shearin of Brandywine, MD placed 2nd and Rachel Troppman of Woodbine, MD placed 3rd. It was another great representation of participants this year and the auction crowd was actively involved by bidding and cheering loudly for the contestants. Last year’s champion, Jay Ruby, coordinated the event. NBC 25 Television was there as you can see in Denny Stouffer’s picture below. Kevin Martin purchased the transcript from the television coverage, so if you’re interested in that, be sure to contact him. A special thank you to Esther Martin for taking the pictures of the contestants this year at the competition. Thanks so much to all contestants and to our judges, Ryan Groff & Bruce Connors from Virginia and Steve Johnson of AuctionZip.com.
