George Hunt, Chair Person for the “Charity Effort” Committee reported at the 2005 Winter Conference that AAM Members & Events raised almost $50,000 in 2004 for the Make-A-Wish foundation. An event was held at Gregory & Warfields on June 17, 2004 and another was held at Morris Auctions on October 3, 2004 and auctioneers from all over Maryland showed up to help the cause. Other fundraisers included the fun auction at the 2004 Winter Conference at Rocky Gap and several AAM Members sold various items at their auctions throughout the year for MAW, bringing the total money raised to an impressive amount.
For the first quarter 2005, George Hunt has already raised $6,000 by selling cars that were donated for this cause. Stay tuned for more detailed information about this year’s Make-A-Wish auction which is scheduled for Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Gregory & Warfields at the Howard County Fairgrounds.
