Roxane Casto and Lynne Zink were awarded 2005 Auctioneer of the Year at the 2006 Winter Conference for their outstanding contributions to the auction profession. They have been working for the past two years producing the AAM Newletter, attending all events, taking pictures, completing write-ups, and researching other topics that could be included in the newsletter. Most of their work has also been used for the AAM website so that web surfers can see the progress that the AAM has been making. Their continued efforts to move this association forward have been truly appreciated.
Here are their reactions:
To the Auctioneers Association of Maryland - THANK YOU! These two words cannot express the appreciation that I have for the Association choosing me as a recipient of the "Auctioneer of the Year for 2005", it is indeed an honor, an honor that truly humbles me. Working on the Newsletter is a labor of love; to bring our Association together and keep all informed of how far we have come and how far we, as an Association, can go together. Again, Thank you for your trust in me. Roxane Casto
Receiving this award was the first time I’ve ever been speechless in my life and my husband still can’t believe it. I joined this association almost 5 years ago in hopes of meeting professionals who would mentor me and offer opportunities to work auctions to gain experience. It’s hard to believe that in such a short time, so many of you have reached out to help me grow and I feel proud to be a part of such a great profession, loving what I do. Thank you so much! I couldn’t mention the names because it would fill up this page. I will continue work hard to help move this association forward with the newsletter and the website. My most heartfelt thanks go to my husband Billy and our children, Anna & Jake who have supported me and even join in to work auctions when we need them. Lynne Zink
